Lecturer in Photography and MA Photography Subject Leader.
Gretchen Geraets is artist working at the intersection of sculpture and photography. Her work explores perception and the intimacies of personal lived experience. Currently, with an Elephant Trust Grant, she is developing a new body of work that explores the productivities of motherhood: underrepresented in culture and society.
Geraets co-founded and co-directed artist run spaces Canary Gallery in Auckland, and g&A studios in Sydney. Alongside her practice she is currently exploring the possibilities and politics of exhibiting in personal/domestic space, such as the bedroom and rear garden.
