Lecturer & Artist
Katy Hammond is an artist and lecturer in photography at Norwich University of the Arts. Her practice revolves around the representation of other animals, with exploration of alternative processes and the materiality of photography. She was awarded the Photofusion Select/17 Bursary Award and her images have been selected for numerous exhibitions including the AOP Awards, Shutter Hub ‘Home’, ‘Hidden in Plain Sight’ at the Gallery NUA, Photofusion Salon and ‘Cosmos’ as part of the Lumen Collective. Her paper, The Anthropocentric Gaze and the Animal as Spectacle, was presented at the Animal Gaze Constructed Symposium in London, with images from the series ‘Denizens’ shown in the Animal Gaze Constructed exhibition.
